I am thankful for so much today -- a great family, good friends, our health, good jobs, the works. What I'm not thankful for? The National Zoo continuing to send me mail to my e-mail address, but addressed to addressed to Bjorn even though I applied for the FONZ membership, paid the dues and am the only one to have visited the zoo in the past four years. But because he's the man, all correspondence is addressed to Bjorn. Not even Bjorn and Katherine or Bennetts or something. Just Bjorn. What is this, 1950?
Get back in the kitchen, woman. I'll tell you what to think...
ReplyDeleteJeeze, first the vote now independent thought. What's next? :-)
Happy Thanksgiving. We all have much to be thankful for this year.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a friend from college (male) whom I was very close with. One of my best friends. He married a girl after college who did not care for our friendship. To this day, the christmas cards that she sends (I suppose I should be glad she sends them as they are pictures of their kids and I love those) are addressed just to Ben. They don't even know Ben! He was my friend! Not to Mr and Mrs Ben even. Just Ben. Drives me nuts. So my story is a little different in the personal side to it vs. the proffesional not giving props to both members of the family, but in all, it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Five years ago, we were at your house in VA w/ our newborn George and I have a picture of you holding him... time flies...
I can't spell or even write in a normal manner. Whoops.
ReplyDeleteSince you are offended by the zoo,dDon't try to buy siding from Sears.
ReplyDeleteI made an appointment for them to come out and do siding on the one side of the garage which got the sun and was consequently constantly in need of paint.
They insisted that since I am married that my husband MUST BE PRESENT for the sales talk AND HE MUST SIGN IN PERSON.
Needless to say, we went a different way.
have you tried emailing the zoo and asking that your record be updated? if the zoo has both your names on file, the email system may be pulling up one name (one field) automatically. the first name field wouldn't have both your names or your last name. i'm sure it has nothing to do with sexism. just send an email and see what happens.
